    We are a local group of the Ramblers, the national charity that promotes and campaigns for walking and the maintenance of our rights of way. Our programme contains regular guided walks throughout the year from 4 miles upwards and from easy to strenuous. There are walks accessible by public transport and by car. Group details…



    Get together to enjoy fresh air and conversation every two weeks from the Heanor Marketplace. The walks are short- (30-60 minutes) and are in and around the local area finishing at the infinite wellbeing cafe for a much-deserved cuppa. No need to book, just turn up.

    For parents and carers of special needs children/adults, to come together with people who understand. Walking and talking is a great way to help with mental and physical well being.

    A small group of up to 8 walkers at present who walk every Wednesday. We use public transport and usually walk about 4miles though this can be longer in the good weather – we don’t often do stiles and only use good paths in fields.

    A steady walk on rougher footpaths taking in hills and stiles. This group walk for about 2 hours and cover about 4 miles often gaining height to get the best views meeting in the Leisure Centre car park

  • Heanor Walking Group

    Our group is friendly and informal. We meet every Tuesday for mainly easy walks which meet at various locations in and around Shipley Country Park, which last up to 2 hours. Everyone is welcome to join us.

  • Poolsbrook Parkrun

    Weekly free 5km timed event at Poolsbrook Country Park, walkers most welcome! Every Saturday at 9.00am, arrive at around 8.45am, first-timers meet by the pavilion café for a briefing. Register beforehand, print your barcode and bring it with you on the day.
