We’re excited to invite walk and jog leaders from across Derby and Derbyshire to a practical session: “Mental Health Awareness for Walk & Jog Leaders: Spotting Signs, Offering Support, and Knowing What to Do” , led by the Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Outreach Team, on 3rd February 2026. This session will equip you with the skills to recognise early signs of poor mental health and vulnerability, be more confident having supportive conversations, and understand the steps to take if someone needs help. We’ll also discuss useful resources, including the Mental Health Support Map Derbyshire, to help you guide others to the right support. It’s a great opportunity to strengthen your own knowledge to help create safe, inclusive and supportive walking and jogging groups for your community.
There will be two sessions led by Isabelle Grainger, Project Officer for Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Outreach Project.
The sessions will be on Tuesday 3rd February 2026, one at 13:00 – 14:00 and a later session at 18:00 – 19:00
Both sessions will have the same content.
