A scenic and spectacular place to put your best foot forward.
Whether you’re a motivated walker, or need a little extra encouragement, we have something to suit everyone.
Nordic walking is one of the fastest growing physical activities and is a great way to burn calories. Originating from cross-country skiing, it involves using poles to reduce impact on your joints.
Our weekly Nordic Walking session take place on Thursdays from 10am at Rosliston Forestry Centre.
Full details of these and all other types of walks can be found in our leaflet which is available to download below.
Get Active in the Forest
Get Active in the Forest (GAIF) is an outdoor activity programme designed to increase participation in sport and physical activity within the National Forest.
Most of the events and activities take place outdoors and make the most of our natural environment.
Change to ‘GAIF provides a programme of different physical activities within South Derbyshire and the National Forest. These are suitable for beginners and include walking, cycling, Tai Chi, Nordic walking, and many more.
Many of the activities take place on a weekly basis and anyone can join in. All are led by either a member of staff or a trained volunteer.
