Amber Valley Indoor Walking

Exciting times in Amber Valley!

During the Amber Valley Walk Derbyshire engagement project we had conversations with people living with a long-term health condition and/or disability – one of the things they told us was that they value walking where they know they will have access to somewhere to rest, access to toilets, flat surfaces and somewhere to get a cuppa afterwards. There was a suggestion that an indoor walking class would fulfil all these things. We have spent some time looking at location options and considering what an indoor class may look like – we would like to codesign and co-produce the programme with community members.

If you are interested in taking part in this class and helping to shape what it looks like, then we have a class starting on Thursday September 24th at Riddings Community Centre. Beth from Arts Derbyshire will be helping Move More Amber Valley and the community to shape ‘Bringing an outdoor walk indoors’. You can contact Karen Rhodes karen.rhodes@ambervalley.gov.uk  if you would like more information.
