With the clocks going back this Sunday and the days getting longer and colder take the opportunity to walk this winter. A quick 5-10 minute walk daily this winter is great for warming your body, burning calories, helping you sleep better, reducing stress, boosting focus and rejuvenating body and mind.
So, we wanted to provide you with some tips and resources that will make walking more accessible and enjoyable during these colder months.

National Trust has some great tips on how to keep walm and safe while walking outdoors in nature.

Challenge yourself every week to do something new or something you have done before, over 60 activities to take part in with all challenges involving some aspect of water.

Fun winter activities the whole family can do together to forget about the cold and enjoy the beauty of winter. From spotting winter wildlife to doing a scavenger hunt, there are a variety of fun activities to try.
4. Winter Nature Walk Ideas for Kids- Run Wild My Child
Making walking interesting for kids can be hard but Jemma (a mum and teacher) provides some great activities to keep children involved, from letting them choose which path to take to art and craft activities.
5. The wonders of winter walking- British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation offers walking tips for beginners, moderate and very fit individuals. There is something for everyone and anyone can take part in walking this winter.

Chesterfield Xmas Walks
The Xmas walks are a chance to dress up in Santa hats and your best Xmas jumper and enjoy a mince pie afterwards. All events start at 10:30AM

Shipley Country Park Elf Trail
Christmas themed trail to find clue cards to help you complete the Elf’s activity sheet and receive a certificate!
